Introducing Schemattic
What is Schemattic?
Schemattic is a software backend, created by Abrasive Monologues, that creates structured data that helps search engines that use both traditional crawlers and machine learning systems like Google, Bing, Yahoo and others, better understand who a page or post is talking about, and how they relate to other people, places, things and most importantly, music.
Why is Schemattic important?
Most artists have social media channels, we’ll talk about this in the upcoming issue of Indie True, but social media is hopeless fractured in terms of discoverability. The algorithm isn’t your friend. Search engines are invested in provided the best results, and related results they that can, to keep you coming back to use their service. That means that they create networks of related content. They do this through context clues, or structured data when it is available. The problem with most systems that generate structured data is that it is incredibly generic data. Schemattic is made for music. Now, if we talk about you as an artist, or one of your songs, we can relate that directly to you and your social channels and help better define you as an artist in the digital world.
Can I make Schemattic a part of my website?
Not at this time. Abrasive Monologues is developing and testing Schemattic as a proprietary technology, and may roll out a version of it to the world at a future time. It is currently functional, but in it’s infancy. Right now it will only be available to artists involved with Abrasive Monologues directly and our partners.
Then how does it help me?
The ability to put structured data in place that is detailed and focused on an artist is rare. Abrasive Monologues is a publication driven label platform. We write about things.
