Song Lyrics

Just a little lump of clay
On the Potter’s wheel
Not much to look at, at all

I had no potential
When I was on the street
Where He picked me up
And brought me home

But He has chosen to make me something new
A vessel He can take and fill and use
Though it hurts to feel the changes
He’s making in me
I know the end result will be
Beautiful to see

Sometimes I’m impatient
And I ask Him why
He doesn’t go about it some other way

But the shape that I’ve begun to take
Serves to remind
That He’s the Potter
And I’m the clay

But He has chosen to make me something new
A vessel He can take and fill and use
Though it hurts to feel the changes
He’s making in me
I know the end result will be
Beautiful to see

I’m in the hands of one
Who knows just how to shape and mold
Me into something glorious
That can be used for Him

So when I step back
And I look at what He’s done
Well I have to praise His name
I know what I used to be

If not for grace
That’s where I’d be

But He has chosen to make me something new
A vessel He can take and fill and use
Though it hurts to feel the changes
He’s making in me
I know the end result will be
Beautiful to see
